Smoking Bans: Good or Bad? I grew up with a mother and father who did not smoke, but when we would go visit my Grandma and Aunt every weekend I would not be able to stand the smell and always felt like I was suffocating. The only thing I really knew about the smoke in their houses was that it smelled horrible, I didn’t understand that it would affect me later on in life. One day during my seventh grade Physical Education (PE) class I started having a hard time breathing, I thought it was because I was running around playing with my friends. After about thirty minutes I was finally able to catch my breath after relaxing for a little bit, but when I got home I was out of breath again. I would raise my arms above my head and it would†¦show more content†¦I have also wondered how smoking bans have effected smokers and non-smokers in all possible ways, be it the health risks of how they feel emotionally. This paper will be about how both smokers and non-smokers feel about these smoking bans. For instance, I know that some smokers are not very happy with the bans and feel as if it is a form of harassment by the government, when some smokers are very happy with smoking bans due to the fact that they have helped them to reduce the number of cigarette’s they smoke a day. While looking at William J. Boyes, Michael L. Marlow, Stanton A. Glantz, Lydia Saad, Blake Yount, and Rong W. Zablocki we see that they all have great claims for why they believe smoking bans are a good thing or a bad thing. Glantz, and Zablocki both lean towards different reasons why they believe smoking bans are a positive thing. Their claims may be different but they both believe that smoking bans are helpful in improving the health of both smokers and non-smokers a like. They both uses strong logical appeal to argue their points and present their results in easy to understand tables and graphs for their audience to understand. The report is based on a toddler who has bled to death due to the ignorance of the hospital. It was reported that the hospital was highly dependable on the life saving unit for saving the life of the child and there was lack of communication between the doctors. It is said that this is a sheer case of complete failure on the part of the management of the hospital and the doctors that led to the death of a two-year-old child. Models of Partnership Working in Health Care: Unified Model: This model aims at providing a single trust having a single economic system and one aim and direction. For effective management of health care a proper education, employment and training programs should be conducted. Development of skills for meeting the demands of the client is very important. The partnerships that are created in the health and social care sector are done with the aim of providing better service to the community. Informed Decision Making and Information Sharing: A good information sharing and decision making is a two way process between the health professionals and a patient. This is the reflection of an ethical principle that the patient has the right to decide what he or she think is appropriate for them, knowing their personal circumstances and account, priorities and beliefs. This authority is inclusive of the right to accept or to decline the offer that is made by the healthcare professional and to accordingly, change the decision. To exercise this right, a patient will require all the information that is relevant to them for a healthy and safe treatment. Consent on any matter is a legal agreement wherein, any of the parties reflect their intention to be a part of something. In the context of healthcare, it means, an agreement of the person on something that is being performed on them for sampling. Obtaining of consent for all health practitioners from all the patients is important, except in a limited number of circumstances where obtaining of consent is not possible. It is always advisable to obtain informed consent, as it is a reflection that the patient has received relevant information to give them permission for healthcare. Consent in legal sense may also mean that the health practitioners have helped the patient to conclude to agree to the healthcare offered. Media and drugs play a very important role in the violence of the society. Our society becomes more violent and dangerous day by day due to media. It’s a scary world for our children every third or fourth teenagers knows someone who has been shot. Media is one of the most dangerous sources of violence in our society. The news-media promoted intense fear before and during the Iraq War by almost universally, unquestioningly reporting the government position as fact. On the local level, news programs constantly report violent episodes in poor neighborhoods with increasing frequency while consciously or otherwise consumers see their society as violent and scary. Mostly white people spend so much of their income on security systems while they aren ’t supporting the local corporate puppet promising to crack down on crime. Media is one of the main sources of violence in our society. The movies of new era video games and TV programs everything have different kind of violence. Many video games are full of violence and children around seven years or older love to play those kinds of games. When I was Twelve years old I was very interested in video games, my favorite games was street fighter and I always dreaming to be strong like my game player and I can beat the people who give me hard time in the school, Just Imagine if every child have the same experiences that I had, and what a big impact that could do to a little children. Many teenagers try to bring out their dreams to be exactly like their favorite hero done in the game or movie. By selling and showing these games and movies, I would emphasize that we are propagation a production of violent children, which make our society more violent in the future. We have to teac h our children that violence is bad for our society. We try to teach our children self respect brotherhood and patience. We also teach our children don’t hurt anybody and always help others. Every two minutes someone is sexually assaulted in America. Sexual, physical and psychological violence causes as much illness and death among women aged 15 to 44 as cancer, while child sexual abuse is more common than teen pregnancy, pediatric cancer or childhood obesity, according to the Minnesota Coalition Against Sexual Assault. Given all the press lately about the issue of childhood obesity, we should remember there are many hidden issues facing our children today —sexual violence is one of them. The programs are used in within the regular classroom to help the struggling readers and the classroom teachers carry out the program with the help of instructional aides or older students. They help struggling readers succeed in school and make good progress in reading especially in grade 2 through 4. In Scott Foresman Early Reading intervention, the program was designed to provide kindergarten and first grade children with an intervention to improve their reading. A teacher is supposed to deliver daily lesson of 30 minutes to small groups of 2-5 students. The intervention is comprised of 126 lessons distributed across 30 weeks of instruction. The Scott Foresman Early Reading Intervention Program is organized in a carefully planned sequence of skills; the explicit instruction and systematic review are intended to ensure student success. The teachers' guide provides a detailed lesson plans that are easy to follow and the instructional materials are well organized. The lesson takes 30-minute that consist of seven activities, with each activity designed to last only three to five minutes. In the first 15 minutes of the lesson, the emphasis is on the phonological awareness and alphabetic understanding while the next 15 minutes focuses on writing and spelling. To help teacher pace instructions, each activity is labeled with the amount of time it should last. For the sake of the students who do not grasp anything, the lesson provides immediate re-teaching strategy. It is recommended that a formal screening assessment, such as Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS), during the fourth to sixth week of the school year should be administered in the Scott Foresman Early Reading Intervention program. A comprehensive assessment plan is an important part of this intervention program. The intervention prog
